Summer Vacation Research Studentship
The Hannah Dairy Research Foundation (HDRF) main aim is to encourage research and education into dairying. Each year the Hannah Dairy Research Foundation (HDRF) offers a number of summer vacation studentships through its Summer Vacation Research Studentship Scheme. The purpose of the Scheme is to provide undergraduate students, who have a genuine interest in dairy science, with hands-on experience of laboratory or field based research. Grants are available for stipends of £220 per week for projects lasting between 6 – 8 weeks, and up to £1,760 in total, plus up to £100 per week bench fees of laboratory consumable costs to support an undergraduate student (typically during the summer vacation before their final year) to carry out a summer research laboratory placement.
How To Apply
Interested students must identify a potential supervisor and work with that supervisor to develop a project together then jointly apply for funding. Successful applicants will be required to submit a report within three months of completion of the project. Once an award has been offered to a named student it cannot be transferred to another student. Summer Vacation Research Studentships are open to all full-time matriculated students in a Scottish university or college. Awards will not be granted to support work that forms part of a degree course. The CLOSING DATE for applications is the 30 April 2019. Short-listed candidates may also be invited to attend an interview in May in Glasgow.
